Group Buy LED Help (please)

I've got two of the IT2060s. I was out of town for a few days and now one of the lights is acting strange. The second channel just won't shut off. No wonder my fish have been looking tired, LOL. I can set channel 1 to 0 and channel 2 to 0, and channel two still stays on. It is not on full power, but it stays on. No matter what I do, it stays on. I tried hitting the reset, and it had no impact.

Is there a way to get new firmware or reset the light in another way? I've tried unplugging it and plugging it back in. Am I going to have to send this back in on warranty?

Any ideas? I know a lot of people on here have these lights and might be able to help. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I know some of them do that. try turning it on/off. also go into program mode and change the time, like you are pretending to reprogram it, and that usually makes it turn off, or go back to how it was originally programmed.

Thanks, but I've already tried all of that with no luck. I just got it on my reefkeeper for now so the fish can sleep at night. I need to find a solution or return it to the manufacturer.

I had issues with one of my lights recently.
I got mine from the January group buy. I contacted sunny via live chat on evergrows website. She connected me with the repair man in the US. I communicated with him the problem and shipped out my light to him in Oregon. He was great with keeping me updated on what he was doing. Testing it. Replace a part. Tested it more then sent it back. Your best bet will be to contact them. She'll be available to chat on the site in the evening time.

Go into the setting section and click on factory reset. That should fix it.

I had a similar problem and factory resetting it fixed the problem.

I also tried this. It didn't help. Right after I reset it, I set both channels to 0 and channel 2 was still on. Sounds like an issue with the light itself. I'll try it again tonight, but I'm not hopeful.

I'll call /chat Evergrow this evening. It's a good thing I didn't sell my T5 yet as I'll likely be going without one of my fixtures for a while.

I've been working with evergrow and they have been great. I told them about the problem and they asked me to send a short video. Then they asked me to switch some wires around to see if the problem goes to the other channel. It did, and this confirmed that it was a faulty power supply. They have sent me a new power supply and I should get it on Monday. I'm confident this will solve the problem. Really good customer service. I just hope this isn't a sign o th overall quality of the light components.

That's great that they are so helpful. I was always weary of buying stuff from China, but then again, what's not built there these days. Heck, even this imac I'm typing this post on was built there lol!

Well this was going ok, but it has come to a halt. Evergrow sent me a new power supply. I replaced one of the old power supplies, reassembled the light, and the problem persisted. Thinking I may have replaced the wrong one, I took the other one out and replaced it with one I took out before. The problem continued.

I wrote back to evergrow and they insist it is a power supply problem. I know for a fact that it is not. I've tried all combinations of the three power supplies I have, and no combo action solves the problem. Now they are telling me to check the connectors. This surely isn't the problem. Not really sure what to do now. I guess I'll keep working with evergrow until they solve the problem. Super frustrating considering I've bad the light for less than two months.

When they asked me if I wanted to have them ship me an item to change I told them I'd feel more comfortable sending it to a professional to repair and if there was any other issue yet would know how to handle it. Tell them that and you want it sent to someone so they can be sure everything is correct along with if anything else is wrong.
Hope it gets better soon

Quick update. After getting the replacement power supply and swapping it out, the white channel would not turn off still. I put the other old one in, just to make sure I didn't swap out the wrong one. Still wouldn't turn off. I wrote to evergrow again and Sunny told me to unplug and replug all of the connections. I did and when I plugged it in, the whites would turn off completely.....for a few second only. Then they would come back on, even though they were set to zero. I unplugged the light and plugged it back in. The whites would turn off again. I hung the light back above the aquarium and programed the custom settings. At midnight, when the whites go off completely, they stayed on. So I unpluged the light again and plugged it back in.......whites are out.....WTF?

I don't know what is wrong with this light, but I'm getting pretty pissed. I'm sick of taking it down from the aquarium and re-hanging it. I'm sick of taking all of the screws out to get at the insides. I'm sick of emailing Evergrow. I'm sick of bitching about it on this forum. Not even sure what to do at this point.

Tell sunny that you've tried everything that she has instructed u to do and still it's not working right and being that its new you want it to be sent to their repair person to handle it cause you've tried everything they've said.

Another Update: Evergrow has agreed to send me a new LCD, but it has taken forever to get it. They finally sent me a tracking number yesterday. In the meantime, I've had it hooked to my Reefkeeper so it turns all the way off at night. Otherwise the white channel stays on, even when set to zero.

BUT, guess what......somehow, the light mysteriously started working properly again. I have no faith that it will continue to work properly, but I'll have a replacement LCD when it starts acting up again.

I really like these lights when they are working properly.

Wow, you have had some bad luck with that light, sorry to hear about that. My only issue was one of my LCDs wasn't working. Took me forever to get a new one in from Evergrow. I actually bought a new one from Reefbreeders cause I didn't want to wait. Now I have a spare in case anything happens.
