I loved the location; everything else ... not so much. I thought Brian needed to be more personable. I remember the two sales people there were annoying. One had the "used car" approach and the other guy had no idea what was going on with prices or promos.
I have a few products from autotopoff.com but I'm curious about anything newer on the market. I also have a simple float switch ATO in one tank and it works fine so I might just go that route again. Has anyone tried the cheap ($45) ATOs off eBay? Like this one...
I've never had luck with the stick-on strips. The adhesive doesn't seem to stick well in damp conditions and I always get a burned out light in a short period of time. What I use now are blue led lights that come in a glass tube. The suction cups on the last one I bought have been holding up...
The wrasse would probably be better in the 48" tank. According to Live Aquaria min. tank size should be a 55G for that wrasse.
As for the tanks, I've always liked the look of a rimless.
Has anyone tried those cheap LED bulbs from eBay or Amazon? They're usually around $20 to $40 for 12 to 54watts. I used to love the ones that Coral Compulsion had (not cheap) but I was curious about the generic alternatives.
If I ran a tank maintenance company I'd definitely pitch my services to this place. Good size tank (150g ?) but not very nice. Livestock consists of xenia, hydroids, brown palys, and some green mushrooms. I saw mostly tangs but there was a clown and a starfish.
I had an ugly third tank that was a recycled sump. Petco is having their sale so I got a new 20L ($20 + tax). I took the rim off and drilled it yesterday; transferred the corals today.
