1 or 2 MP10's?

I'm working on getting a 40 breeder setup and I was wondering if I would need 2 mp10's for a mixed reef or if I could get away with one.

I'd do one mp40. My bro in law has a single mp10 on his 40b, and it works well enough but is a bit loud at the higher rpm range, and he's got all soft/Lps corals. With a mp40 he would have better flow and less noise.

That's what I was going to say. 1 MP10 would need to be cranked up and as expensive as those things are my only dislike is how loud they can get. I have 1 MP40 on my 90G and its at about 80% and I get ample flow. Realistically I'd like a little more flow but its just too darn load as it is...

I'd also go mp40 as one will do teh job cranked down a bit and better expandibility of you decide to go bigger one day

Like running two mp40's on a 60g cube, then later upgrading to a 180g ? ;-) and everyone called me crazy, not crazy just thinking ahead, lol
