If you are doing soft corals or anemone gardens, replacing one of the front blue+ with an ATI Actinic 03 will add more color spectrum.

For a slightly warmer color lighting, use a GE 6500k in place of the KZ New Gen 14000k.

+1 I have a six bulb set up the same way execpt I have the 65k instead of the 14000k bulb
 
2 and 4 come on as the blue cycle so here's what i got

aquablue
Blu +
Blue+
fiji purple
blue +
coral +

thoughts?

My thought is you got several good suggestions above, this doesn't follow any of them, and I think you will not be very happy with the color output of your bulb setup. I certainly hope I am wrong thou and you like it as that's all that really matters.
 
I don't like that at all it'll be too white it will drown out the colors take mine or fishbeard's suggestion you wont regret it.

Agreed, if you want an all ATI bulb set to save a few bucks, Brandon's suggestion is about as good as you can do with what they offer, I'd spend a few extra bucks on the KZ bulbs thou, once they are over the tank you will see it was money well spent.
 
I'm just worried that ur suggestions will be too blue. And but I really like the cool white crisp look. So I'm leaning towards your suggestion fish beard. Sorry I've been so picky but I want everything to be perfect
 
Never a hassle bud that's what this forum is for bouncing ideas off of one another. And you said bulbs 2&4 come on for dawn/dusk? That's not typical but if that is true move white bulb in slot 4 back to slot 5 and the blue plus up to slot 4. I know it seems like a lot of blue but you'd be surprised how much one white bulb came drown out all those blue bulbs.

I'm a big fan of the KZ Fiji Purple over the ATI Purple Plus. The KZ will pop oranges and reds whereas the ATI will just pop reds. I was recently running the KZ New Gen's but have heard the ATI Coral Plus are better than the ATI Aqua Blue Special's.

I'd go with the combo above and tweak it from there. If it's too blue, then add a GE 6500.
 
I have a purple+ right now in my 8 bulb and not a fan of it. It came in the fixture with a few months use so I'll be keeping it for now, but once time is up, I'll be ordering the KZ Fiji purple along with all new blue+ bulbs. I'll be using my own bulb recommendation, but with 2 actinics as well for added color spectrum, not growth. I do like the 6500k in place of the NewGen 14000k, since I do like a warmer/whiter daytime color, but have both bulbs for when my mood changes and I want a cooler blue daylight look. I will however never waste any money on aquablue special bulbs since imo they just wash too much color out from your other bulbs, the coral+ is supposed to be ATI's solution to the aquablue bulb but I'm still not a fan of them in anything more than a 4 bulb fixture.
 
Fishbeard, this is Mike across the street from you. I just got a t5 fixture, but its only 4 bulb.-46 bowfront reef. What would you recommend in this fixture? And where would you go for the purchase of the product?

4 bulb

2 ATI blue+
For actinic channel

1 KZ Fiji Purple &
1 ATI Blue+ (very blue look)
OR
1 KZ NewGen 14000k coral bulb (blue look)
OR
1 GE 6500k daylight (white look)
For daylight channel.

BRS, Premium Aquatics or ReefGeek should all have these bulbs available.
