Advice for buying coral

Hey everybody,

I just made an account and I'm looking forward to using the website. I just recently moved downtown into Lincoln park and took my 20 long with me. Now that I have settled everything after the move (and no casualties!) was looking for some advice on where to buy coral in the Lincoln park area. I don't have access to a car, but I'm hoping that someone here has a favorite store (or perhaps is looking to sell something and lives in the area). I visited old town aquarium yesterday but the prices seemed extremely high, although everything looked really quality. Either way, thanks for reading!

Sadly Eye It Buy it is the best way to buy . Seeing a coral in person is the safest way . You can determine if the tank its housed in is healthy . Shipping works but too many photo shopped pictures for my liking . Without transportation it's rough. Sometimes you have to travel if you want to cherry pick.

Catch a ride with some other reefers. New fish at Milwaukee and division has decent stuff. I buy corals online and always had a good experience. Its the shipping that kills you.

Not many places with decent prices in your area. It's always cheaper to buy from an a fellow reefer too. You could order online and split shipping costs if you want to get a group buy together. The other option is traveling out to the burbs.

BTW, Welcome to CR !

Keep you eye out for people posting stuff for sale on this forum. I've had great success buying from other reefers.
If you have the time and want to take the train, Aquapros is a quick walk from the Metra station in Glen Ellyn on the UP-W line, ~45 minutes from chicago. Getting to the UP-W line, not really sure but I'm sure it can be done with public transit.

Wojteks Reef is a train ride to UP-NW (Gladstone Park) and a quick 1 mile walk.
