Aiptasia Serial Killer

Yesterday morning I spotted an Aiptasia Nem between one my zoa rocks. I was thinking damn I need to take care of this when I get back from work. So when i got back from work I find both of my Clowns dead in between rocks smh. I felt like crap all night. One of those times where I could of taken care of the problem but I didnt. Sucks! i need to buy some Aiptasia Eaters! How do you prevent these things from poppin up and how do you kill them?

I highly doubt Aiptasia killed your clowns I'm sure it is just coincidental
To kill Aiptasia, Joe's Juice, Red Sea Aiptasia X, Aiptasia wands to electrocute the little SOBs
 
I don't recommend hoes juice. It seemed to spread aiptasia for me. Buy some peppermint shrimp

Yes, extremely highly unlikely that it killed the clowns - I'd say 99% chance there was another reason.

You can also just super gel over the entire head/hole and that will kill it without spreading.
 
The aiptasia didn't kill your clowns. I would run some tests on your water. Clowns are very hardy fish. That would worry me more than a couple pieces of aiptasia. A CBS is hit or miss in eating them & not all kinds of CBS eat aiptasia.
 
Yea that didn't kill the clowns. My peppermint shrimp eat any off any frag I get as soon as I put it in the tank. Try a few of those
 
I've tried pepps they always disappeared. This zapper is the bomb & fun to use! I also have an aptasia-eating filefish FS. ;)
 
While I've used Aiptasia-X, I have to say that my 'eats from my hand' peppermint shrimp absolutely rips those glass anemones apart. My vote goes for the minty fresh peppermint shrimp option first.

Ive had mixed success with peppermints. I always end up getting rid of the rock with them, to be honest.. but ive had mild success with injecting them with lime juice and then covering the hole in super glue gel.
