Algae problem.

I've been having a lot of green algae growing on the glass. Not much on my rocks though I'm not seeing a ton of coralline growth and I've had my tank running for 3 years now. I'm running my halides for 5 hours and my acrinics for 7. I'm not getting as much sps growth so I may extend my halide time. Just don't want to deal with any more algae than I already have. Any ideas?

You have too much nitrates/phosphates in the tank, which also stuns SPS growth. Also, how old is your hallide bulb, after awhile, the spectrum changes, which will cause microalgae growth and less favorable light for the SPS.
Research carbon dosing, to lower nitrates/phosphates.
