moved to our new home last month and updated my 120 gallon reef. here is what i did.
-repainted the stand and canopy from black to slate blue
-replaced 4 koralia hydro powerheads with 2 mp40w es
-ran the plumbing of the tank through the wall under the stairs 12' to the laundry room. (no more sumps under the tank!!!)
-upgraded the return pump to gen x pc x 100
-40 gallon sump with 30 gal dedicated to fuge with my breeding pair of bangaii cardinals in it.
-mounted rodi to the wall and ran lines to top off tank w/kalk and 20 gallon brute can for water changes. (no more manual top off at all!!!)
-set up area for growing phyto
-set up 5 gallon tank for growing rotifers
-3 10 gallon growout tanks for bangaiis and clowns. still have room for 1-2 more depending on how often i keep the fry.
-got rid of my 22"x28" orange monti cap to make room for more sps's
-reset my lights in the canopy to get them a bit closer and slightly angled toward the back of the tank. 3 250watt mh. 2 14k 1 20k on at 1145 off at 630 and 65watt pc light on at 930 off at 1030.
it has only been about 4 weeks since the move and have already seen a lot of growth and good color. the clowns have also laid eggs twice. I will try to catch the next group to raise.
i did have a casualty during the move. my 2 yr old sailfin went crazy in the bag and by the time i went to get it out, it was dead. also broke a 6" green stag in half
the first pic is the old tank all the rest is the new set up.
