Amount of Evaporation

In the Midst of setting up my new 65 Gallon tank, I noticed there is a lot of evaporation going on. Currently it is probably around 1 gallon a day. Is this normal? I am also curious to see how big other peoples tanks are and how much evaporation they are getting.

I lose 3-4 gallons a day on my 400 gallon system so I would say that is fairily normal

I lose between 1 to 2 gallons a day on my 140. I run MH lighting too.

Same thing here, I used to lose 1-2 gal . on my 140 gal., be prepared to lose more in winter when the air is drier.

The more surface area the more evaporation . It's normal.

Sounds about right, not sure exactly how much evaporation I'm getting, but I'm guessing about a gallon a day on a 90. I'm filling my 10-12g ato back up every week, but its never completely empty.

I've currently been putting in a little under a gallon per day in my 75g.

i have a 65g, as well, and roughly 1 gallon or less evaporates a day.

This is why i have a 30 gallon reservoir for my ato. Consequently i don't know my daily evap rate, i just fill the reservoir when it gets low...

Oh, i have a 70 corner btw. I built my stand bigger so the reservoir sites right behind the DT.

I am about 1-2 gallons a day on my two tanks (120G total volume). Different times of year will make it swing +- a gallon, which really throws off my dosers.

77 gal total vol and I cant get away for a week with a 5 gal res. definitely need a bigger one!

2 gallons a day on a 90 with 60 gallon sump. However I used a five gallon reservoir for the auto fill, was always paranoid the auto fill relays would freak out and dump too much freshwater in.

I'm at around 4.5 gallons per week with my 45 twv tank and sump.
