I figured I'd post a few pics of my 120 tank project. I just cut two holes and did the plumbing for overflow. I have all the pieces of plexiglass cut for the overflow boxes to be mounted on the tank as well...View attachment 4424My first glass drilling!View attachment 4425Plumbing a fish tank...been waiting a while to say that!

More details and pictures to follow. I'm buying a house and transfering the inhabitants of my 55gal to a 120 ( 4ft x 2ft x 2ft) with a custom sump setup. Bracing up some of the plumbing tomorrow and waiting for parts!

Looks nice. If you haven't glued the PVC yet you might consider reducing your use of 90 degree fittings. 45s will allow more flow (though it probably matters a lot more on the return.)

Looking into the paint option...i posted a thread asking for details of painting the tank - any rec's would be appreciated.

I used twice the recommended amount of overflow so I hope the 90 degree bends shouldn't obstruct the flow too much. we'll see in two weeks!

Haven't posted in a while. Got alot done last weekend. Tank is up and running.
-Back painted with Blue Krylon Fusion. I'd highly recommend doing this to anyone!
-Tank is noisy which I knew it would be.
-Fish and coral are happy. My sun coral took about 4 days to open back up but it opened last night right before I went to bed.
-new 6 bulb tek light is crazy bright!!!

Don't have good pics on this machine but I will post some over the weekend. I took a picture of my wife taking a picture of the tank. I did have a UV lighting bulb go dead after less than 6 days of use.View attachment 7181

Oh yeah...need more liverock and more stuff. I'm thinking of doing the home-made liverock. and I need to finish the stand to make it look "pretty" as my wife says.

I've added a few a frags and need to move stuff around in the tank. I may also be doing some DIY live rock. I did finish the side panels to the stand last weekend. I still have to buy some trim pieces and handles but the front and two sides are removable for maint. Have them fit pretty tightly but I'm gunna add some velcro strips to secure them. I'm gunna get some better pics up when I get some batteries for my good camera and finish the stand. It wouldn't be a saturday if I didn't do to home depot!

Thanks...I love my light!!! I wish I would have got the 8 bulb setup. Probably gunna go LED in the future. I'm working on building a temporary frag rack until I can get more rock in there!

Funny you say that. I have an 8 bulb Tek and only use the front 6 bulbs of the fixture over my 180 and that is still more than enough light, even my few sps (no acro or Millie) are happy with the light.
