Any sps I should stay away from?

I run an 8 bulb t5 fixture on my 75 mixed reef. I currently have some birdsnest, acro, and some green poccilopora. I got all of them from a buddy, and they are growing great. I'm bitten by the sps bug now.

My question is, with my set up is there any types of sps I should avoid, or that wouldn't do well?

I ran a sps tank with 8 t5 bulbs all ati . All sps did great they say some r harder then others but if tank parameters r stabile all should be good

Cool, I run ati bulbs too, just one daylight threat blues/purples. Did your fixture have a single reflector or multiple?

I had the cheapest odyessa fuxtures 2 four bulb fuxtures but they worked great for 2 years. The thing i figured out about sps is water quality stability and temp stability is key. Corals adapt to lighting. Just will change colors under different lights but will still live

agreed with the other joe. I ran an odyssea fixture for a while also and had no problem growing/maintaining sps.

Those of you that ran the t5, where did you place your coral? Top middle bottom? Mine are middle/top.

That will depend on the sps . Best to tell us name of coral when u get it some look better in low light some need high light i moved mine all around my tank till i got the right colors. Like red planet for say if u want all red put it high if u want red and green put it in middle . Like i said before most will survive and adjust to light but may not look right
