Anyone ever used a Moontube?

Needed a simple moonlight because so I could see my tank more often. Not a lot of choices out there. Rapid LED was a maybe, but I found this:

I'm really looking at it more for the controller anyway. If I don't like the light I can change that but still have a fully contained moonlight timer. The other solutions I can find require a full controller which I don't need otherwise. Any thoughts on this? I'd love to know if anyone has used one just like this. I found it rather difficult to find and was surprised at the lack of simple solutions in the market.

Holy bageebies...that is expensive...look at the steves leds moonlight kit. I think it's $40 and it's customizable in length, has a remote, and you can do a bunch of colors. Might be a better option...otherwise, one of the lights I used at the swap was submersible.

Had somthing similar from marine depot, not as nice as I would like. They caused spotlighting and lots of shadows. Also the wattage may not be enough to light your tank. I think the write up said it was .5 watt total. That's the same as the stock Nuvo light. I would look into a stunner from ecoxotic. I have one 48" over my 72G bow and it's strong enough to supplement the day lights. Just my thoughts.

I just use autozone water proof blue strips paid twenty bucks get two strips conected to a ac adapter i had laying around and out in a timer works great on my 90 and 75 had em for years no issues and self stick and can cut if to long. There royal blue color and corals glow under them

I see they come with 2 strips per package. Were 2 strips enough to cover your 4' tanks?

I gotta say, at first application, I am EXTREMELY impressed with this thing. It uses 1 3w LED and the shimmer is absolutely incredible. It follows a real lunar cycle and you can actually reset it when there is a full moon and it will stay current with the actual cycle outside. This picture compare it to my NC28 LED ADV with 4 1w moonlights thid morning. The one on the left is on it's highest "full moon" setting which is perfect. You can alwsy switch it out of the cycle or manually dim it as well. This is exactly the solution that I was looking for.
