Anyone watch their tank(s) while away from home?

I got a cam for Christmas and i was hoping to use it with apex online but it wasnt supporting cams yet. I couldn't get the access working for direct viewing outside the home either so it just sits there.

Which one did you get? I'm wanting one that is color at night instead of B&W.

I have one of these in my house. I can watch my house using my iPhone. I guess I could just point this to the fish tank.

I do. I have my reef site http://www.ninjasreef.com that is my diy raspberry pi reef controller I am building it has a live feed from the tank live temps frkm the sump and tank plus real time controll of all the lighting and pumps. Currently it is sitting on my desk my usb camers isnt plugged in and neither are the 2 temp sensors I hope to have it back on my reef by this weekend. I just took it out of my stand so I can wire a few more sensors to it. I have a full backend to that site that lets me control everything hooked up to it. If you dont know what a raspberry pi is google it they are pretty amazing micro computers for $40 with inputs and outputs for reading sensors and controling relays and such. Currently it reads temps, turns on and off my halide, leds, fuge light, return pump, and heater. I have it set up to kill the halide if the tank gets too hot and wait at least 15 minutes to let the ballast cool before coming back on if the temp drops before the 15 min is up.

I also have 2 of those cameras at home and the picture quality isnt all that great but they do work and the night vision is awesome.

Its a foscam 18910w wireless cam. And you have to set it up wired before you can use it wirelessly.

Um, I wouldn't say it's good video. The camera has an infrared light so you can see in the dark. I haven't pointed it at a lit tank in the dark. I will try it tonight and let you know.

Set up is pretty easy. Picture quality is ok, but it was cheap. The ONLY thing I haven't been able to get going is port forwarding so I can set up the camera with apex fusion.
