Anyone with a melanarus?

I picked one up from reef wise the other night, colors look like it is going to color up nicely, it is small though so still juvi/female. The caudal fin has a little nibble out of it, but it was the best looking one out of the bunch so I took him. Any chance on him regrowing that part of tail?

Also, I notice all the male melanarus have beautiful coloration including the caudal fin. The caudal fin on this one is almost clear. Is that just juvenile stages still?

I have him in QT right now and am running prazi, he hasn't looked so good, he isn't very active. I'm sure its from moving to two tanks within a day from the LFS to mine, I took him home the day he arrived.

He is taking to mysis and not showing any disease symptoms so I hope he pulls through.


I am curious about the fin regrowth and the coloration though. If housed alone it will turn male and color up correct?
 
I have a lone Melanurus. bought as a three inch female. took about 1.5 years but now is a beautiful male. not sure about the fin. just give it good water, food, and tankmates.
