Aqua-Mag Rock - be careful

trackfast

Princess Trainer
I got one of the Mag-Rock Jrs in the first GB that was organized by Walt. I think it was about two years ago or close to that. Today the magnet in the rock finally broke loose from the rest of it. I know there were some members interested in purchasing a few of these but I hope that they're made better now. Is there anyone that still has a functioning one from that GB? There few that I talked to said their rocks crumbled apart long ago. My Galaxia had spread over this rock but I think I'm going to have to frag it now bc of the crumbling. I think it'll be okay if I can get the pieces securely glued onto real rock.

I still have both my large and small one. I actually recently took them out of my tank if anyone is lookin for some lol. I took them out cause I had a ton of BA growing on it and got pissed off lol. They've been cleaned since then.

I have mine frm walts group buy don't know if same group buy still doing good so far but agree cheaply made and magnets r super week

Mine from the GB is doing Ok. Actually just removed it today and transferred to a another tank. Some cons I have about this product (I have the large one):
- It grew some algae on it that did not grow on my regular rocks, looks like HA
- It left a bunch of hard white residue behind it when removed, required a razor blade to remove.
- The magnets are weak, and it does feel very delicate overall.

Pros
- You get a floating rock that takes up no floor space.

If you remember from that GB a ton of them were breaking during shipment to Walt.

I just heard from Walt. Aqua - Mag is willing to replace the rock from the GB. You will still use the original magnet that came with your piece but the main rock will be new. I'm getting details about what needs to be provided for a new piece of rock.

Bump for anyone that might need a replacement.
