Aquatica and an amazing experience

I received a frag of unknown bright orange zoas from a friend about 2 months ago. When I received it, it had one single strand of hair algae, and I decided to qt it for the time being. After about a month of qt, I spoke with Mario at aquatica, and he asked me if I'd like to bring the frag in, to see if his hermits would take care of the algae.

I agreed, and brought the frag in on Wednesday. I came back in today, and Mario told me that the hermits ate not only the algae, but the zoa itself. Now, I'm a regular customer there, and they know me and my 2 year old very well, however what happened next shocked me. Mario apologized for the frag and gave me a new zoa frag that was very similar.

Not only did he not have to take the frag with the algae to clean, free of charge, but was clearly not obligated to reimburse me for something that was not his doing.

This is why, with my wife and I buying a new house next month, we will continue to travel to aquatica for all of our needs. Mario and his staff went above and beyond. I just want to let fellow reefers know how well they treat their customers.

That's just the way Mario rolls :-) A++ no worries mate he'll make it up on me next time im there lol

I met Mario yesterday for the first time and like the fact he is a strait and upfront guy.

As far as your zoas once they ingest some food, its not uncommon to have some crabs rip them apart to get that food and in the process consuming parts of them.

Mario is not your typical LFS Guy.

I give aquatica a double thumbs up...

Cheers

I just got back from a trip to Aquatica to pick up some Trochus and Turbo snails. Customer service was top notch. I am not sure who helped me but he took his time to pick out the smallest snails for my nano. Their price is a little expensive compared to online vendors but inventory is great.

Can't say enough good things about Mario and his team. They have to be one of the busiest stores in the area, and I don't mean fish/reef, just busy compared to all stores, and well deserved. But... every time I go in and see Mario, no matter how busy he is, he makes me feel like I'm the only one in the store. I used to live in Tinley and met Mario when he opened, now I still make the drive from Lake Forest, because no one has as much in-stock as Aquatica and there is only one of the 5 LFS much closer to me, treats me as well as Mario. Great job Aquatica Team.

I just picked up a Fusion SR-50 from Mario the other day. I must have been in the store 2+ hours going back and forth between tanks and questions. He is a extremely patient and stand up guy. I wouldn't hesitate buying anything from him. He treats you like you want to be treated, and for that he will always get my business.

I don't know how he does it, but there can be 10 people in the store and somehow he manages to take care of everybody and keep everything straight, even names. I have yet to read a bad review of the place.
