Aqueon Proflex Modular Sumps

Was just curious if anyone had any experiences with them? I currently have a custom 20L sump in my tank, but I'm really not happy with the way I did it. And I may be moving my 75g reef to a new house, and so I figured that would be the perfect time to replace the plumbing.

I really like the design of the Proflex sumps, particularly with how the drains go. I haven't seen any custom sumps with similar systems that aren't super expensive.

So, anyone have experience with them? Or know of any good alternatives?

i guess it depends on what type of filtration you plan on using your sump for......i dont like them, i would rather have a eshopps r-200 or r-300, pro flex are unique but dont really let you put your skimmer in the first section as most reefers desire, and therefore eliminates the middle chamber for use as a fuge which most reefers also desire.....and if you did have a fuge, the skimmer would have to go in the last section which most reefers dont desire....if your going to go buy a new sump, go with a trigger systems sump or an eshopps r-200 or 300 or something similar to those.....just my opinion

+1, the only issue I've had which someone's touched on is where the drain is. My protein skimmer is in front of the media sock which sucks to change because of it.

Just like the posts above said if you want to keep refugium those sumps are not really good because there is no place for skimmer, however keeping refugium for filtration purpose is of a little value ( most refugiums are nutrient traps) and most reefers I know of don't employ fefugium in their system anymore, neither am I . Good sized protein skimmer with good husbandry will take care of all nutrients. If you have no need for refugium I think those sumps are good buy. For me the only value if refugium is pods cultivation and place to put interesting creatures that have no place in main tank.

I'm not really looking into using it for a refugium. I may block off a small section of the return area and put some live rock rubble in there with pods. Other than that, I intend on using it as a berlin setup. I've read a lot of good things about how quiet it is. And since in the new location the tank will be a few feet behind the couch, being quiet is a huge plus.

Thanks for all the suggestions though. That's what I was looking for when I made this thread.
