I seen one in person as he has some crazy gadgets and lives around my area. Will try to get a small video of his setup and some details. A member from RC and not here

I think it drips out and refills with some type of DIY switch, which also drips in. I think he said it will do a 150gal WC in a 1 month period. He has some big containers for this.

JBJ auto top offs can do the same with cheaper pumps. It's just two float valves connected to pumps. Get a splitter on the JBJ unit and turn it on when you want it. It'll pull water out and put it in at the same time, but if you do it in two separate sections, it won't matter. I'm doing this hopefully when I set up my 110 if I have a drain close by.

Humm you will still need some type of controler to turn your auto top off, off when this is being done. I would like to do a 8 gal auto water change a day

I would never put a auto water change system on my tank! I use water changes of a way to remove crap, debris, ect. from my tank. If I did an auto water change I would still want to vacuum once in a while anyway. Perhaps if you had super high flow and a bare bottom system then I would advocate an auto change system. For most of us however it would be an unnecessary expense.

Thoughts?

This wouldn't take away to weekly cleaning schedule. Just help stabalize essential elements. Im considering buy some float switches and using an RKL to manage. Programming it is a different story. Prolly just turn it on off when I feel like running change. Having a float in sw bucket and using my ato switch to stop floading.

That's the same situation as the JBJ method I was referring to earlier. One switch controls how much is pumped out of the sump, the other stops the water from getting too low in the reservoir.
