So I am working on the design for my tank. I have had a handful of Nanos and am finally working my way up to the 50Gal CADLights Cube with a Remote Sump in my basement.

Since this level of Reefing is new to me, I will stay in the beginner section.

Display 50G Cube
Flow - Mp40 + Mp10
Sump 40Gal Breeder
Skimmer Euro Reef 180
Pump - Mag12
Light - Radion LED
Heater - ?
Sand - ?
Controller- Apex maybe with Wireless functionality for lighting/flow control.
Rock - Cured Marco rock - 50ish pounds 30 in display 20 in sump
RO- BRS 5 stage no TDS monitor :(
Doser - Kalkwasser with topoff in AquriaDoser

Qt System - I would like to set one of these up, perhaps 1 for fish 1 for coral?

Stock plans- Softies, some long stalked xenia, bright LPS lords Etc..., some sweetly colored sps, perhaps a RBTA for clowns to host
Fish - True percula locally bread pair, perhaps mated already.
clown goby Pairs
Yasha Hashi goby
I'd like a pair of pearly jawfish
a kole tang or a trigger fish
sixe line - or other great swimming wrasse Ideally a Leopard wrasse.

Yes I will have a canopy and also mesh cover on my tank if necessary.

Thoughts?
I need Heat and Sand - what should i shoot for those. I am not looking to have more than 1.5 inches of sand in the tank.

I'm curious why add fish that require the addition of mesh/canopy, doesn't this defeat the purpose of such a beautiful rimless tank?

The rimless look is too contemporary for the location of the tank, I won't be hanging my radion ( I may mount it on an articulating arm) - and I have kids who will most likely put something into the tank. I love wrasse who end up on the floor, a canopy will cure my troubles.

Update :
Going with a Single Hanging Bar from CAD to mount my Radion, CAD PLumbing set along with Flame finished overflow cap to match the build Woot. CAD is making a Glass lid with hinges, it sets into the tank and it will keep the Ultra sleek open topped look while being kid friendly.

Cadlights makes really nice tanks. I had the 39g pro was really impressed with their quality...however their shipping and service could be better...this tank is going be beautiful.

Glad to hear your sticking with the rimless look with a glass lid instead of a canopy. Going to look awesome once you have it all set up!

is the mag 12 gonna give you.the return you need. if indeed it's your return pump maybe I missed something can't wait to see it tho sounds sweet

Honestly i dont know if i want to go with an external pump or not. The Sump is located below in the basement and about 20 feet away. Perhaps i am going to need to kick that up a notch.

Any Return Pump Recomendations?
