best place to but salinity

Some of you know I've been testing and my alk and calc are always low. I decided to check my fresh mixing sw batch and it tested at 8.1 alk and 490 calc (after mixing a calcium booster) so i started reading up that if you have clumping salt it can cause u to have low alk and calc since moisture has been absorbed ect.

So im going to switch salts for a fresh powder instead of continuing using my rock salt lol. I want to try out salinity. I've heard good reviews on it.

On a side note, anyone need some reef crystals for their fo tank? Lol I'll sell it cheap! Almost a whole bucket.
 
Yea my alk always low to if i dont keep up with water changes . I use reef crystals too was thinking of buying doser . So u here salinty helps keep levels up. If i do water changes every 2 weeks like im suposse to my levels stay ok but when i slack they go down i dont test but i can tell by my corals
 
Switched from Red Sea Coral Pro to Salinity a few weeks ago. My numbers have remained stable and the salt is very fine, mixes well. Dave at AP is stocking the Salinity now. Got my monster bucket (approx 70lb) there. It goes a long way too. It's about 1/2-3/4 cup at most per gallon.
 
Out of the Blue Aquatics in St Charles was running some deals on it. You may want to call them to see what the price is.
 
I have seen several different stores offer non published deals on this, pick the place you do business most with ask if they stock it and if they will give you a break on it.
 
I do weekly water changes and can't get my alk or calc up. Now i Know why. Glad i tested my wc water before i tried to dose kalk to fix the problem.
 
+1 reef city. They have all the other Aqua Vitro products too. My corals love the reef food. Good prices on them too!
 
I use Neomarine Reef salt from Brightwell. I get mine online. I know that RW is carrying that line of products, but I didn't see that they had the salt the last time I was there (2nd annual CR BBQ).
I haven't had any issues with that salt and it is also a fine salt. Mixes very well. I think the price point is around the same for that and Salinity. I know one thing, I test for Mg and using this salt I haven't been out of range with it. I use 2 part from brs for my ca, alk and check after 2 days of water change. I don't really have to add anything (Ca at 420) but like to keep my Ca at 450. pH stays around 8.2 to 8.25. Alk is between 9 and 9.5.
 
Well, didn't realize how low I was on salt and after checking wasn't going to be able to get my order online. My lfs carries Salinity so I am giving it a try. First bucket: mixes well, dissolves completely. Measured SG at 1.026 ppt in the bucket, which is what they said it should be for 2 1/3 cup in a 5 gallon bucket. But be aware that top when you reclose is a **&(^& to get off if you tighten all the way. Doesn't have a smell to it like the Neomarine does. Will check my ca, mg, alk in a few days to allow the water change to cycle a few days and let you all know. my pH is running at 8.36, about where I keep it.
 
I was having a hard time with alk for the longest time. I switched to BRS alk/Ca/Mg additives (no 2 part even came remotely close) and never looked back. I tried several diff salts and have always come back to RC. My trac loves it. Haven't tried salinity, doubt I will because the hopes I had for other stuff just nvr lived up to hype, and yes I tried BRS's red sea coral pro and it was nominal. Oh and I added kalk and it made all the difference for my tank and keeping levels very stable.
