better prices than petco

I was told by this dude at petco to come to this site bc I could get better prices on fish and coral. Am i in the right spot? I am new to saltwater aquariums. I have a 100 gallon and a 59 gallon.
 
IMO I'd pay more for a fish to ensure good health/ survival. Petco may be cheap but you are getting a fish that may possibly have disease/ parasites that could potentially kill all fish in your tanks. In the long run, making everything more expensive. I personally use a QT to ensure a healthy/disease free fish!
 
Sometimes when people break down tanks u can get fish for good prices or decent prices but not always fish for sale its a forum not a lfs hit up insane corals they get cheap fish or seven seas there prices look decent too from what i seen posted from them

You can get coral and fish at reasonable prices through fellow reefers but being new to the site you might want to start a intro thread to let everyone know who you are first and get to know some fellow reefers there are a number of saltwater fish and coral shops in the area that are great to deal with. Petco is not a good place for saltwater. So ask some question get to know some of us and the deals will pop up from time to time . And welcome to the reef.

LMAO Im that dude from petco :-) I was buying some dog food and ended up talking to Bolat, and yes I told him better deals than petco. first of petco is out of their mind with their prices on a poor coral selection,on here people are always selling trading etc and sometimes free for example today I went to Tangency for some free corals awesome guy.
