Biocube 14 overhaul

So after much thought I'm planning on completely redoing my tank.. Starting out with all new rock sand and livestock but I'm keeping all my corals :)

All my corals/clownfishes will be going into a 15 gallon tank while I redo my biocube tank..

So new thing I will be doing is putting a CPR hang on the back fuge. Same thing that I have on 30 cube.

Also was wondering if anyone has ever taken out the whole back chamber of a Biocube before? If so how'd you do it. I'm currently researching on how to do it but would like to hear from someone who has done it before..

If i change my mind on the hob fuge.. Was wondering if the back part of the Biocube is drillable.. If yes I'll have it drilled and get a sump/fuge going..

I you guys can chime some advice on my rehaul project I would appreciate it and also if you have a better way of doing my tank rehaul pls let me knw..

Thanks everyone

You, ma friend, are nuts...idk about knocking out the false wall, but a reefer on RC (Carrie) did it, but regrets doing it on her 28 (or so). I think you can make it work with some alteration, without having to gut and drill. Just ma opinion, keep it simple :)

You're not crazy for wanting to alter the tank, you're crazy for not taking this opportunity to upgrade!

Good luck sir. :)

I did it in my 29 gallon bio cube but also drilled it and added a sump and yook off the black rim wasnt hard but have read that some who have done it cracked the tank and seen one that this possibly happend to ethier way there is alot of silicone. the back chamber is a full box. I went at it with a small hand saw and then used a butter knife and a razor blade to get the rest off the sides are pretty easy but the bottom part of the box seemed to be the hardest. once you make first cut no turning back so take yoir time and look before stripping silicone. You dont wanna hit the back panel glass silicone seal. other than that happy i did it looked good when i was done i thought

im just a lil crazy lol. Im a little bit cautious about removing the false wall also.. idk how it will be with the hob fuge running but in my head it seems like the back chambers will be no use once i have it running.. but we'll see still.. Yeah i like the simple approach.. i may just put it on there and just see how it goes lol
