bleached coral

so I was watching the great barrier reef and they said when corals bleach that they can stay alive for weeks and get new zoozanthaellea from phytoplankton. so I wonder if you were to put a newly bleached piece into a tank with green water if it would bring it back? food for thought.

There is a difference between bleached coral and dead white coral. If your coral is bleached and hasn't lost it's polyps or flesh it will return back to its normal state with the proper care. If it is dead there is no coming back, though some have said some skeletons have been known to pop some baby polyps, but I can't imagine the time it would take for one polyp to reach a normal size frag.
