Brain Coral

Quick question....I have a brain coral that the colors have faded. When I got it, it was intense red, fluorescent green and green. The fluorescent green and red have faded. How do I get the color back...any suggestions?

I've never had long-term luck with them... :/ Are you feeding them? Enhancing the food with VitaChem & Selcon?

How long have you had it? And when did you notice the colors starting to fade?

I had a similar kinda brain coral, floyroscent green and red, they actually improved the color after I got it


First questions, what lightin and what flow are you giving to it ?

These doesn't like a lot of flow or light. Try placin it in a relatively lower flow and lower light.

Kevin, brain corals (both trachyphyllia geoffroyi and trachyphyllia radiata) love to be fed. I feed each of mine roughly 6 large mysis once per week.

Also, gradually working them up to higher lighting typically brings out the colors...and sometimes even more colors.

In my tank, they are placed in lower light areas just because of the balance I'm going for in my tank. With weekly feedings, they have kept their rainbow grade colors even with the lack of light.
