Called Rubbermaid today

My ro/di unit came from brs today and I was looking at getting a Brute container to mix my saltwater in. While researching today I found conflicting reports of chemicals leaching in the water from the containers. So I called Rubbermaid who makes the brute and I was told that the colors white gray and yellow are not only FDA and NSF approved food grade and potable water but also through a controlled experiment they have been found to be aquarium and saltwater safe. Glad I called today and found all of this out and just wanted to.share it with all of you.
 
That's good to hear since I've been using a rubbermaid brute 44 gallon trash can to mix my saltwater in for the past 3 years.
 
A lot of people have stated that rubbermaid containers leach phosphate. Phosphate is safe for people and fish, but it does cause algae issues.
 
I would like to know what kind of controlled experiment it was! IMO I think that the reason poeple have algae issues is because the container is not cleaned or rinsed out every so often.
