Can't get my zoas to grow

Need an expert zoa growers opinion. My parameters are great, except my mg, which is 1330, and I'm dosing 10ml a day. Everything else grows, however my zoas are healthy but stagnant. Is there anything I can do to help them?

How long have you had them? All good things in this hobby happen SLOWLY. I did notice that growth started happening around the time I started using coral frenzy, but that could be a coincidence.

Is your water clean? Zoas does not like crystal clear water. Mag 1330 is fine. The purpose of Mag is keep the balance of the CAL and ALK so it won't affect the grow.

I just read about the Mag week ago but cannot find the article any more.

My zoas didnt budge untill I started reef chili in the tank now they grow like crazy. maybe they just need some food to intice them

I've had my zoas for 6 months. One frag is toward the bottom, flow is consistent throughout the tank,. The other frag is mid, led 20k lighting (though I've never had it gauged at my house)

Yes, now that my bubble situation is gone, my water is crystal clear. I'm a freak about keeping my tank clean, and I do 25% water changes once a week. I know I'm doing something wrong, just don't know what.

I have great growth with no coral feeding. I've talked to a few serious ZOA keepers and they agree not to feed zoas. Palys might eat but zoas usually don't. The excess food eventually will build up between polyps and can cause sickness to the colony. I'd be willing to bet its not food that ignited your growth, but simply the polyp settled in. I've noticed for the best growth don't touch your polyps. Find a spot they are happy and let them grow. I have polyps that are notorious slow growers that grow like weeds for me. My best growing zoas are those I glued months ago and didn't touch.

I can take pics of their placement. I feed once a week with a coral food. They are both healthy, just stagnant. I'd love to have them grow and frag them, but no dice

25% water change a week is too much..it's will shock the water parameter. I change my water only 5% a week to keep the CAL, ALK and MAG in balance...As people said about, you may need to feed them with coral frenzy or reef chili ...

But don't ever overfeed them..

Like mai said your water might be too clean for great growth.

Are they named zoas? Some are just slow growers.

mine don't grow either look good but no growth or very slow . my buddy has opposite they grow like weeds . I always thought cause my tank mainly sps I keep clean I seen zoas grow faster in tanks that r less well clean . maybe its just coinsidence
