Hello all, we are Cincinnati Area Reef Enthusiasts (CARE) We have a traveling reef tank that we take around to schools. Some of you may have saw us at the show. We are having a fragswap on Feb 6th @ Coco Keys Waterpark. I will post a flyer once I get access to post links

It would be a nice weekend getaway for you guys and gals and fun for adults and also children as we will have it at the waterpark, with a shark tank from Newport aquarium, Divers from the Cincinnati Zoo and a whole area setup outside of the swap for Kids to learn about reefs and plays games, crafts, Etc. Remember $80 for a room for the night also comes with 4 waterpark passes for the day!

Welcome aboard CR. I was a pleasure to meet you at the show. I've bumped your stats, you should be able to do anything needed on the forum.

CARE is a pretty darn cool non profit. They're out there teaching the next generation using hands on about reefs and the cool stuff which lives in the ocean. It's only about a 5 hour drive and should be a cool swap. More info to come.
 
Talked to them at the show. Very nice people and I really like how they are teaching the next generation reefers with more of a hands on approach rather then "here's a book about it"

Hey guys. It was nice talking to you all in Chicago. I set this id up but was later than Ricky there I see. :)

Just got done with one of our presentations at a school I did last year and the kids remembered me and were able to answer questions from over a year ago. They remembered the craft and asked about the fish being the same one. How cool that they remember this stuff a year later. I love this part of the work we do!!!

If you ever want to dive into this type of work, let us know. We would love to help any way we can.

Thanks Venom! Even though it is a full time job Denise or none of the rest of us actually get paid, we are a not for profit and we put on Donation drives ( which this is one of our biggest) to bring in money so we can keep this going, We actually used our own money to start this up because of the passion we have to make this successful. Seeing the kids we present for (the future of our hobby) get excited about the reefs and reef tanks is what makes it all worth while. We hope some of you are able to make the trip, its not a bad drive and a great way to spend a weekend!
 
Some great vendors signing up. It will be a small but fun event for that whole family or even just a hobbyist or a non-hobbyist thinking about it. :) Cannot wait to see some of you again.
 
This Saturday. Hope the weather holds out as we have been in the 60s. Even if it doesn't, stay warm and wet at the water resort!

We have some great raffles in including a 75g tank (not reef ready) and stand, AI hydra 26, great foods, pumps, ro/di units, and much more. The first 50 people in get a bag of surprises from Hikari, Instant Ocean, TLF, Kent, Ocean Nutrition or others.
