My wife is going to be taking CNA classes. She's heard that working in hospital is better and pays better but hard to get in unless ya know someone or have experience. My question is does anyone know anyone? Her training will be in October so hopefully she will be ready in November. If hospitals won't take her for a whole anyone now or work at a nursing home in the general area of Hammond?
Thanks all!

Apply apply apply it is a lot easier to get your foot in the door first then after her schooling is done move up. Most hospitals hire from with in even if she can get a desk job first them move up.

Next time I go to one of my accounts I'll ask for you. Got the in with a nurse whose doctor works at two hospitals and a nursing home.

My advice since I work in the medical field is after your wife's schooling and clinicals.. Have her work at a nursing home to get experience.. It's a big jump to go from school to a hospital since the hospital will have big expectations and the work load can be demanding for a new cna. Work at a nursing home for about a year and then move to a hospital.. A lot of hospitals hire cnas with experience only ... Even though u know someone on the inside to get your foot in the door.. They still look at your experience and look into your skills..

Hope this help and good luck to your wife..

Thanks and it makes sense.
Hope that there are some open doors for her once all is said and done.
