I've been battling a huge aptasia problem in my "newer" reef tank (set up in the spring). Actually I was battling a ton of stuff: macro algae (several kinds), hair algae & aptasia. Tore all the algae out by hand & added a baby foxface: Norman. He's done a fantastic job of keeping all the macro algae gone but I'm still pulling out hair algae. Just have to keep up with that I guess, because there's a HUGE Mantis shrimp in there, so nobody to eat that, I guess... Now, after months of trying, I finally caught my Copperband butterfly from my other reef tank (no aptasia in there!). He will hopefully get to work soon, eating all that horrible aptasia! Other than that, this tank is really shaping up to be a real stunner, with all the corals I've been buying from Jeff.
