Changing tank focus

Coral cat

I'm changing my 410 gallon tank to a shark tank. I'm getting opposing views on how to do this. Some people say to tear it all apart and start over and others say just clean it real well and cycle it. I'm not sure what step to take and what to do different.

If it's already running, and not having serious algae issues, I wouldn't start all the way over... just redo it from where it's already at.

Dont c how starting over would be any better then cleaning it. Id redo rock work and leave bare minimal rock to give sharks more room. Just be careful ive heard sharks do better in rounded corner tanks . Square tanks they tend to damage there nose in the corners .

+ 1. You need as much sand space as possible. And no crushed corals, they will get their belly scratched up because they swim basically on the sand

yea im piling rock around the edges and center of the tank. free swimming sharks are most likley to damage their noses on the corners so i should be fine. i plan to rake my sandbed to get any small pieces of rock out. anyone know where to get cortez rays at, but i want a different variety than the plan color ones. im looking for something with a pattern.
