chiller took a dump

ok we have JBJ mini chiller that looks like it took a dump. it wont chill anymore. the JBJ 28 gallon nano cube with metal halide. the cheapest chiller i found was 380 bucks. now if i retrofit the hood to led's can it drop the water temp to the level where the chiller is not needed? or does anyone have any idea where i can pick up a chiller for a reasonable price

rapid led has a nano cube led convertion kit. with leds what ever the temp in the apartment is the water will be.
 
Sorry to hear that, I just bought that same chiller about 2 weeks ago. The Leds won't raise the temp, but the ambient room temp on a small tank can be an issue. I'd suggest you take the chiller in to see if it needs to be refilled with antifreeze/Freon. Probably just needs servicing.
 
That sucks . Mine crappes out to got lucky was able to trade my cheveron for another one. I will never go with out a chiller ever again after tank got to 98 and cooked seven 60$ plus fish .
