so it is only spring and there is people showing up with cooling problems. i have not made any but would people be interested in buying a chiller that works just as good as a jbj but built in a computer case for $150. of corse i would deminstrate that it is just as good but $100 cheaper. i know that a brand means a lot and that some people would rather pay full price for something from a store, but chillers are expensive. like i said i have not done this yet i just want to know if there would be people intersted. thanks for the feed back.
 
I've thought about building my own chiller using computer parts as well, hard part is making sure the heat pipes are safe for aquatic life.
 
That's sounds like a cool idea, no pun pun intended, but you should probably make a prototype first so people can see the design and product in action, before committing to something. :)
 
that is what i was thinking make one up and see what people think. let them see it work. i could make sure it is reef safe. but the cheapest i seen used ones for is like $250. if it is just a good would people want to buy that is the question?

If you had a working demo that I could see I would definitely be interested
 
most likly im gana set it up with a 1/4hp. i will start putting together a prototype. and keep you guys up dated. thanks for the feedback
