Chiton?

Saw this thing crawling around my rock last night, got a quick pic of him before he made his escape.

I did some research, is this a species of chiton? Are they good or bad?

He is in the center of pic.

They're fine. I used to have bright solid pink ones. I saw some that were enormous, in a tidal pool, in St. Lucia. They cling to the rocks with superman strength.

Yeah they look pretty glued on there. Thought he was part of the rock until he started moving.

Chitons are very prehistoric looking. Reminds me of trilobites

I have lots of them. They mind their own business and, I agree, they are a marvel in looking so much like trilobites.
