Clam foot

Earlier this week I lost a beautiful black and white with blue clam. Idk y, but after siphoning allot of sand bed and doing a waterchange my other clams has dropped his foot. Will he survive?

Yeah, as long as it dropped it itself, and not ripped or torn...it should do ok. Good luck bro.

That's how mine came off. Tried moving him. Not sure if I ripped it off or he dropped it himself. Either way, no ill effects as of now.

he was in the sandbed. I successfully used a razorblade really close to rock with my other clam. hes now attached to a nice tile and is easy to move around. :) here is a picture of the clam that died on me. I had it for two weeks. Solid pickup from reefwise @ $55. View attachment 9318

Watch for clam eating snails or other predators that live in the sandbed. They tend to eat at the feet first until the drop them and then climb up in them and have a feast

What do they look like? I just did a sandbed overhaul and found several black snails. I hope I don't wake to another empty shell.

Found this on google. I've never had them and only just learned recently. Called pyramid snails and they eat other inverts. Check em out eating the foot
