cleaning filter socks

Just curious, how do you guys clean your filter socks?

I just dilute some bleach in a gallon of water and clean them in there when they are dirty and need to be replaced.

I usually take my sock outside during warmer weather and spray it with the hose. Otherwise lots of manual cleaning indoors. I am not a big fan of bleach. Wiz.

I rinse mine out in the laundry sink.
Soak them in a bucket with bleach.
Then into the washing machine. (Before using the washing machine though, I run it through a cycle with nothing in it. I want to be sure to get any detergent residue out).
In the rinse cycle, if possible, I put some dechlorinator in.
I then hang them outside in the sunshine to dry and to help break down any chlorine that might be present.
Yeah, it's a hassle, but I figure I have invested so much into the tank, why not go the extra. My filter socks come out nice and white as new.

I'm usually lazy and change them once every 2 weeks but now since I'm dosing, I have to change them once every 4-7 days. They get clogged fast.

So washing the socks with the rings around them doesn't crack/break them or anything?

Summertime I powerwash my filters on a homemade pvc/eggcrate stand and just let air dry.
Wintertime I rinse them out in the utility sink then theow them in the washer. Run a empthy cycle with just hot water then throw socks in with a cap full of bleach, run 2 more cycles of just hot water and let dry, then rinse with Ro and they turn out like new.
A note on the powerwasher I would use a electric one no more than 1500 psi, anything higher will start shredding the filter padding.

I put them in the washer as a group, wash with my "Xtra Sanitary" setting, heavy duty, bleach, and rinse plus...

I let them air dry for several days and rinse with RO water.
