Cocrea?

Two new additions, was told they were cocrea how do I know.

They are crocea clams.You can tell by the shape of their shells.Make sure they get a lot of light,they are the most demanding lights clams.Good luck.
 
Was doing some reading and seen that they need to be in sand now I'm hearing rock? Can I get a majority rules on this one lol. Anyway I placed them both in half a clam shell and surrounded them with sand. If need be I will move them up after they attach if thats what I need to do because of lights or rock instead of sand. My lights consist of 7 54w ati t5 two weeks old about 24" to sand bed. Thanks for the help. Scott
 
I have all of mi.e in the sand even the maxima but it's on a rock under the sand I do not bury them.i kinda place them there as they move to happy place just me nice clams by the way

I do this as well, in the past I have had clams pushed over by my emerald crab or serpent star. I like them attaching to somthing solid and you can bury the rock or shell, just peice of mind. Then just give them plenty of intense light and make sure you Cal and Mag is good. Easy and beautiful! :a21:
