There a company in Dallas that makes hybrid tanks. I asked for a quote and waited 2 months before I even got a reply they received my request, then waited 3 more months til they said. We are working on quote. Then never heard back. =(

The idea sound really cool. I like the idea of glass for good viewing with the strength of acrylic and the ability to drill the PVC easily but I would not want to be the first person to buy one. I would be concerned about how reliable they are long term.
 
I have an old tank like this, it was made by AGE or AEG its been along time my son is 12 and definately had it a few years b4 him. Went that route due to weight savings.. It still holds water and the back has had a few extra holes drilled in it for closed loop. Curious to see the pricing on these in a smaller tank size like a 40 breeder size.
