Is there any reason I can't do this in my dt. I have nothing in it except rodi water. It's in my basement so it will have less light then my garage. I wasn't going to use a chemical phosphate remover if it's leaching, just chaeto and run some gfo, and getting in the habit of weekly wc's. Thoughts?

I don't see why not. It should cure just fine as long as there are no fish or coral in there.

I cured apprx. 150lbs Pukani in 2 Brut garbage cans in basement, put a few live rocks from current tank in each, heater and powerhead, with water changes about every 3 weeks.
