So wife and I had day off. Daughter had play at 815 for summer school, went great, then took son to breakfast. While there a guy all decked out in country gear and my son says look its a real cowboy. We quiet him down, 5 minutes later the man comes over and gives my son his official PBR membership pin and then goes to his truck and gets an old truck piggy bank and gives it to him. All this and the guy can't say a word because he has a trach hole. Wow what a nice man. Then I say field trip, going to head to reefwise and see Brian. Picked up daughter, got haircuts, headed north.
Arrived 330ish. Four peeps in the store, had to wait turn. What a great display he has. So chose 4 corals, 1 lps and 3 sps. Lps was Purple tipped frogspawn two branches, sps was pink Stylo mini colony, two green pieces one an acro other I think is serIatopora. Left about 445. While checking out, Brian says he won't charge me for the lowest frag because we drove up to his place, I was like wow! Second act of kindness in one day. So I bought some oyster feast to round it off.
Home acclimated in tank, and all hell breaks loose. Peppermint shrimp go right after the frag he didn't charge me for. Ugh, I grab some mysis to distract but can't catch the **** shrimp, have three. Move the frag to spot they usually are not it, check later and it's bare bones on one side, so bummed out. Frogspawn is doing well, other two mini colonies aren't being bothered, shrimp have to go! Hope the frag will survive. Anyone else have some rouge shrimp problems? I really hope the frag will pull through. Other than that great day with the family.

I've never had a problem like that with Peppermint shrimp; I always thought they were pretty docile and peaceful. If you think the shrimp might still be after that frag, you could try using a small clear plastic container with holes to cover it. Good luck.

Well, peppermints all caught sitting in refugium, they went at the frogspawn too so they had to go. I got a coral banded and plenty of hermits for detritus control. Reef safe, maybe for a softies tank, but man they are like vultures in a tank. I couldn't believe how fast they would go after the corals, lost one frag, others are alright though.

Man I thought the same thing, googled it and wow was I surprised, and then I watched them, came right on my frags like it was a Popsicle stick, then I went away and came back and saw damage on the frogspawn and you could tell it was from tearing of flesh. Oh well problem solved for now until something else pops up.

I've had problems with Peps in the past. I don't trust shrimp therefore I won't have any. They were not Camels I assure you of that.
