Dead corals on arrival; what would you expect?

Let's say I found someone giving away free corals and I wanted them shipped. The person suggests that I pay for Express Mail ($35) but I tell him Priority Mail ($11.35) will be fine. I get the package after three days and nothing survives. What would you do if this happened to you?

I shipped some of my free Xenia to a guy in NC. I suggested overnight; I was worried about it being too warm. He contacted me via pm "nothing survived".

so now he wants refund for shipping ? thats as bad as when i give crap away free and idiots want me to deliver it too just my opinion . tell him sorry but no guarentee on free crap

The corals were packed with newspaper and in a partially insulated box. He didn't ask for a refund but I was expecting to hear from him at all.

well if he didnt ask maybe he was just letting u know that they died untill he ask for refund he hasnt done any thing wrong yet

Oh good I though you were the receiver. He should pay you for shipping.

Please let me clarify: I didn't say he did anything wrong; and I wasn't implying that either.. I just feel bad for the guy. I don't want to refund anything bc I did suggest overnight.

Thanks for your comments. :)

I wouldnt worry bout it we take risks evertime we buy anything u tried shipping live goods is not easy they dont always make i. Be different story if he paid for coral. But it was free an u didnt have to ship it at all. U shouldnt have to be out $ for free stuff

Most vendors only cover the coral cost for doa, shipping is the buyers responsibility on future credits for doa. And by most I mean pretty much ALL
