Display safe macro algae?

Is there such a thing as a safe and attractive macro algae for a mixed reef display that's great at using up excess nutrients?

Chaeto chews up the nutrients, but looks terrible as it's free floating.

Caulerpa taxifolia is one of my favorites as it's also great at chewing nutrients and I think it's beautiful, but I fear it going sexual.

I used to keep calurpa taxifolia in the fuge and somehow some made it to the display but it was always easy to pull the pieces off rocks. Is that common, or was that an exception? I kept mine well trimmed, and never had it go sexual, is that a real fear with this macro? If I introduced it to the display am I just asking for trouble?

The real question is in the title, is there a non-sexual, nutrient loving, attractive macro algae that's easy to remove and keep under control? Or does it just not exist and I need to stuff some chaeto in a HOB fuge?

I'm nowhere near an ocean, so no fears of excess calurpa making it anywhere but a trash can.

Why would you want to keep MA in your display? Just curoius. IMO no matter how safe any MA would be I would not keep it in my DT.

There are good display macro algaes and as a matter of fact people do display refugiums to display them. I'm not too familiar with them but I've seen plenty of them before.

I have a bunch of dragons breath for free if u want it ...Looks nice and grows fast... It's actually in my dt .. I rubber band it to my output... looks cool ... And hides the output perty well

I've seen some beautiful tanks with a mix of MA and corals. When done right with the right species its awesome. Really looks like a snapshot of the ocean. Not too familiar with all of the variations, but I'll try and find pics/video to show you.

I like the sea grass or sea fern look, the trick is that there's no sump or fuge so it has to be in tank or hob. Thanks all for the replies! Need to check out some of these suggestions.
