Ditching Radion G3 Pro for ATI 8x24" Dimmable... On the fence here!

Guys, seriously! I have had real nice colors, and some OK growth, nothing to special, within 6 months my growth has been minimal at best I think. I borrowed a PAR meter from a hobbyist and noticed I am getting around 150-230 PAR around most of my SPS. On 100% intensity with Radion G3 PRO with the Wide Angle Kit.... (on rms fixture) over 93 cube...

Now, I went to a fellow reefers yesterday running sunpowers, measured his par, and it is around 300-400 where I am around 200... I'm really on the fence here. I like the look of T5 as well.

I'm considering ditching the Radion and getting a T5 fixture over my cube.

Anyone else done this or am I insane?
 
You are not insane at all.! Its a great fixture for lps and lower end corals. But i also have a 93 cube with a Radion G2 plus the wide angle lens and unfortunately I have not been impressed at all its been 9 months. I'm switching it out for the new ati 24" t5 and led combo.

I did that. I ditched my radion for t5 and I'm very happy. The color and growth is better compared to the radion. I switched from radion gen1 to a ATI 6 bulb dimmable fixture.
 
Great. I'm running 4 blue plus and coral and purple plus. The color looks great also. U won't b disappointed. And ur corals will love it

That's what I love to hear! Can't wait! It will be here tomorrow. Do I need to do a burn in phase off of the tank or no?
 
Yes 50 hour burn in period at 100%. Just leave ur radion on another 2-3 days until all the bulbs r ready. Just use the ati fixture to burn them in. Then u can start dimming them. Plus by burning them in, it helps the bulb last longer.

50 hours straight? At 100 percent? So set it up in the basement and leave it on for 50 hours?

U can set up a timer mayb 10-12 hours a day if u want. But I don't think there should be a problem with 50 hours straight. I was planning to to that with my new bulbs when I buy them.
