Don't for get the small things

Today I took my led's down after a year of being up because I noticed they were getting a little dusty, So I took it out to the garage hooked up the compressor and started blowing it out and found it packed with dust that had been sucked in by the fans. Im sure it caused a lot of heat which we all know shortens the life of our expensive led lights. So just a little heads up and take the time for the little things it could save a lot of good frag money

Great advice! Even more important if you have dogs/cats, their hair gets sucked into the fans and cooling channels on heat sinks. Yuck!

Also take apart check for salt creep ive fixed a few that caught on fire because salt creep built up in the shrink tubing most use around connecters it eventually built up and bridged instant disaster . Ive tooken cheao ones apart and expensive ones both had places that it could happen. Specially in a canopy situation. Sen 4 fixtures do this already luckly people were home and smelled it befoee house burnt down . I actually went as far as removeing all my guts and put them on out side the tank so only thing under the canopy is the led panel its self and fans.
