Hey guys so I may be picking up a bigger tank sooner then I thought and was wondering if anyone knows of anyone local or a LFS that drills tanks. I seen lots of video online and read how to do it I just don't trust myself that much lol

It's easy better to use electric drill not battery op and let drill do the work don't put pressure

10 gal tanks are easier to break when drilling. If you are drilling a bigger tank, with thicker glass. I Don't think there is any risk.
I'm not a handy person, but I drilled maybe 20+ of the tanks ( not include 10s) and they all perfectly fine.

You can do it cubano32, just dont push! stay 4 inches away from edges, and make a ring with plumbers puddy fill with a little water water. And tape the other side of the glass ,cuz the circle you cut out might go flying. Lol

Is it better to cut from the inside or outside?

Go from the outside of glass inwards, you need leverage, and start on an angle, so you can score a guide ring! Them you straighten the drill, don't press . Let the weight of the drill do the work.

I drilled my 39 gallon tank for the first time on my own did the ring of putty with water and I taped the back side plus put a towel in to catch the falling plug started with a cordless drill at a very slight angle to score the glass and then let the drill do the work keeping the rpms on the low side then once I had a good cut going and could feel the drill working evenly increased the rpms..then when I was towards the end of the cut slowed down so I didn't thrust the bit through the other side of the tank and brake anything....
