I've read this article before and it is a very interesting read. It basically contradicts what everyone has said for years about frozen food being higher in phosphates. The testing revealed that dry food has higher phosphates than frozen. Also that rinsing frozen has little effect on phosphates...

Lol i just go by what works for my tank . Hell some say orange juice is good for u and then i saw on news a study that says its bad for u. Same debate over garlic and bristle worms and everything else in this hobby or just in life . Someine does a study says things r good someone else does a study and says they r bad . I can say for a fact i get less algae using pellets and less skimmate to. I think its more pellets can be feed more controllable not much waste as frozen has more waste and gets everywhere. I believe also if u look on label of pellets mentions phosphates also copper

Have been told that from various LFS and never rinse or strain frozen and #s are spot on ,great read though and thnx for posting

Uneaten waste doesn't come into play regarding phosphates (according to the article). The phosphates are either going to be in the fish poop or in the uneaten food. The sum of both is always equal to the total you added to the tank when you fed. Not saying folks should stop feeding pellets, just saying that science has dispelled anecdotal theories about phosphates. I do believe that you see less skimmate and less algae when you feed pellets but according to these science guys it wouldn't be the result of phosphate.

The amount of organic chemistry in the article is too damn high!! lol it hurts my head. But very interesting article.
