Dwarf angels in a nano....

I was on a different forum browsing and came across a guide for nano tanks so I started reading. When it got to what fish can go in what size tanks I was shocked to see certain dwarf angels such as the coral beauty and the flame angel in the 20 gallon section and the cherub angel in the 10 gallon section. From my research when I was deciding my stocking list I found the recommended tank size for most dwarf angels is 70 gallons with a few at 55 gallons. So I guess my question is... is it actually okay to have these dwarf angels in tanks that are 20-30 gallons? Will they actually be happy?

i personally wouldnt do a flame or coral beauty in a smaller tank , but i had a cherub in a 29 , and seems fine with enough rock for it to pick at . it is one of the angels that stays pretty small . the flameback was another i kept . tried a potters but could tell it wasnt happy with the space it had once it got larger

The flameback was also in a 29?

I had a small flameback in a 30 while upgrading to the 110. If you plan on rehoming it once it starts growing, long term there is little chance it'll be happy in a nano.

Yeah in the other thread they were talking about what fish could be stocked in the tank

I have successfully kept a coral beauty and my current potters angel in 20 gal tanks for short(ish) periods of time - under 1 year. I will say, the fish seemed much more relaxed when moved to a larger tank. Can you do it? Yes. Will the fish live very long? Probably not.

That said, I would put a pygmy in a 20 with lots of rockwork and not feel bad about it at all.
