FedEx can't find my corals...

I had a delivery scheduled for this morning by 10:30 am from Hawaii with some nice Z and P's. Well I finally called FedEx and they said that they didn't know where the package was, but it had landed in Chicago last night. Now they are saying that there were weather delays with the flight even though it clearly shows on the tracking that it landed just fine. Has anyone had to deal with making claims before, because at this rate I don't expect they will get here till tomorrow. That would be 3 days in transit and I don't have high hopes. I am just frustrated and had to vent a little.

I shipped clownfish via fedex to California in January and their flight was delayed for several hours, the male, a beautiful picasso clownfish valued at around $300 died in transit but the female did survive

i think if its just zoas and palys nad if they are packed properly they should be fine if its just a day or two delay .. provided temperatures wont drop again.

I don't think any livestock is covered by FedEx. They will ship it, but they are excluded from loss claims.

i did not know that .. thanks for the knowledge. So incase its a store shipping their livestock to us, its on them if the package go missing ?

I had something similar happen to me back in January from FedEx. It got delayed a day and I was out 3 frags from Jason Fox at $250. I submitted a claim but never heard back from them.

Store will not warranty if a package goes missing.

Maybe the place you ordered them from will help you out. I ordered 2 dwarf angels from Divers Den last summer, and FedEx delivered them to the wrong house. It was evening before they were found, and the fish did not make it. DD refunded the money for the fish and the shipping, no questions asked, but DD has exceptional service, and your place may see the weather as an act of God. It may be worth a try to talk to them.

On a positive note, I just got a fish in yesterday morning from Hawaii that was overnighted. It had lots of heat packs that were still quite warm at 8:30 in the evening, so as Tinman said, they may be alright if packed well.

Thanks everyone for your replies. The seller has already affirmed me that he has an arrive alive guarantee. I have ordered from him before and he has some great packaging. I will update this tomorrow morning hopefully, if it arrives then.
