FedEx lost my fish!!!!

I've been waiting all day to get my delivery from LA, and when 3 PM came and went, I started to worry. I opened up my laptop and noticed an email from them, a shipment delivery notice that the package was left at the front door at 12:43!!! WHOSE front door??? It wasn't mine. I've been checking that front door every 15 minutes, and my dogs go nuts when FedEx comes to the door.

I ordered a multicolor angel and flame angel, and the poor things are sitting in the 90 degree weather and will most likely be sushi for some family tonight. I'm soooo upset about those poor fish.

FedEx has put a trace on the package, and will hopefully, and quickly, find out where the driver left it. I'm not worried about the money, I've contacted LA about it and LA is a great company and I know they will refund everything, I'm just concerned about those little fish.

Anyone have a guess as to how long they can survive?

That's sad news,it happened to me too, they delivered at 7246 instead of 7426,check that out and find a similar address on your block to see?

Ouch! Hope they find it soon.. You might want to take a power walk down you're street for this package. It might still be at a front door :(

It's hot today!! So not sure about survival rate right now.

You should have just had them deliver it to a local Fed Ex/Kinko shop. They drop those off first thing in the morning and you can go pick it up.

I checked the neighborhood as soon as I discovered the problem, but no luck. We are on a cul-de-sac and there is another cul-de-sac opposite from ours that oddly has a different street name. The house with the same address is the first house I checked. When we hired our lawn service, they mistakenly cut their lawn instead of ours.

I've had tons of deliveries here, as all us reef people get, and this is the first time this has happened. Wouldn't you know it had to be the one with live fish.

I wish I had thought about that. Believe me, I'll be doing it from now on.

That way your fish are never outside and you get your fish before any of the folks for home delivery do. I hope you find your little buddies. They should be ok as long as they are not out there in the sun.

i hate fed ex they always screw up every thing and then trying to get things set right forget about it dont think they education goes past third grade. good luck i hope they ok i hate to see fish die

If you can get them tonight, they should be okay. It was not that hot today and DD/LA packs really well. Call Fedex and find out what service center that driver will return to at the end of his route (they usually close at 9). Then call that service center directly. They'll tell you which and what time he/she usually returns back and will have a better chance getting a hold of the driver. I'd be there waiting, more than likely it's still on the truck and there was an error with the system. Or if they can contact the driver he can check the truck, or (sorry for all the or's) if he's good he'll realize it's still on the truck and he didn't attempt that package today and swing back by your place.

The latest update is that the driver has gone home for the day, and FedEx has no contact number for him. They won't be able to do anything until tomorrow morning.

I am truly sick about this.

That sucks, sorry man. I just won the Achilles tang today on Divers Den, I hope they don't screw that up!
I think if it's a shipping f*ck up, foster and smith cannot be held responsible, but I would try to contact them anyway.

I'm sorry to hear that...they have been messing up lately. They never delivered my packages and I had to pick them up from their central location. They never rang the doorbell and just left the sticker on the door without trying.

Finger crossed! Lets hope for a small miracle!

Funny you should say that. Big big news. A neighbor that lives 2 blocks away just brought me my fish!! I am so so relieved she brought them right over instead of waiting until tomorrow. The fish are still in the bags, which were still cool. I can see them swimming around, and am beginning acclimating them before putting them in QT. I'll post some pictures in about 1/2 hour.
Thanks everyone for the good wishes! They worked!!! :thank_you2:

Congrats on the tang.
Dr.F&S were extremely helpful in contacting FedEx. It was totally FedEx's fault. As long as you have a good driver you shouldn't have any problem. For me, though, next time I'm going to follow Walt's advice and have them shipped to my FedEx near me.
