Hello all, this is my first build and would like the pros input. I started looking when my nuphew was upgrading to a 150. I liked the thought of also a frag tank, fuge, qt and why not a spair. Here is what progress I have made.

you might want to put something on the carpet (plywood with caulk around the edges , rubber liner or frp) under your sumps to protect it from spills, salt creep, leaks don't want to end up with mold on your carpet

very nice... i have a 125 gal with a 55 gal basement sump... the tank its in my bedroom and its dead silent.. you will love that feature and also water changes and such, its very practical.

what pump are you using.

did you drill the floor? or did you go through the wall?

What is the order of your RODI filters?

Hi Jeni it was great to meet you saturday you were very busy

I have a whole house filter not pictured then it goes
1) Purtrex 5 micron depth sediment filter
2) MATRIKX+1 0.6 micron carbon block
3) Pentek ChlorPlus 10 Carbon Block
4) 75 GPD Dow Filmtec Membrane
5) I have a storage tank that goes up to my Ice maker and water in the fridge the kids call it ( NASA WATER )
6) Dual stage DI with refillable cartridge's
and 2 35 gallon storage one salt and one top off

The chloramines filter is realy not needed I use Chicago water but was cheeper then with out it I bought it from bulk reef supply when they tried to sell on e-bay but they stoped now from what the tech line said.

Plumbing under DT return and drain. To the right is QT tank I can fill from DT and drain to sewer.

IMG_1910.JPG

The front two 1 inch are feeds to pumps one main and the other skimmer, above is over flow drain to sewer and the blue valve is water change from 35 gal tank 4 feet up. Gravity is fun and free. The back 3 pipes to the right are drains from two frag tanks and DT the left is feed from DT to fuge.

This is were the pumps will go and drain to my sewer making water changes a breeze.

well mr overacheiver, some people like carrying buckets and buckets of water to do a water change.
it makes us feel like mickey in the sorcerers apprentice.

great set up!

That's pretty much how I've got it. Do you buy your filters in bulk? How often do you change them?

Wow you've relay been busy. Looking good!
+1 with onepoorreefer on the splash and salt creep issue.
I've installed tile flooring under my tank areas and couldn't be happier.
That's going to be one sweet setup.

Looking at all of the pictures of how the system will assist in water changes with hard plumbing reminds me of all of the bucket carrying I do to maintain my 150.

Thanks.

:bootyshake:

Im kidding, it looks great. Keep it up.
