flame wrasse changing going haywire

ok so i had bought a male female pair with super male from mwcf before they closed. well male died so instead of buying another male since they dont seem to make it i bought second female put em together no problems. one changed . happy days lol. and boy did he change the brights reds and yellows ive ever seen on one. hes flashing all day just flash flash flash flash . but now hes fighting with female hes going nuts flashes every one but female gets it worst. will this get better or worse. is it because his hormones r out of whack for now or what. or do i have to catch female and remove
 
Oh no ill be following this since i really want a flame mcf was sold out before i could snatch it up hopefully it gets better not same wrasse but my pair of res lines did this at first the male chases her around a 210 then she diappeared for a while thought she was a goner but when she pop up they were together forwver lol fiah are weird
 
Sorry to change the subject a bit but I didn't realize MCF closed; I hate when a business closes.
 
My buddy was telling me he might be trying to mate with her thats y hes dancing and flashing and she doesnt want none yet lol no wounds on her and his colors r just crazy bright
 
Gotta love a male flame wrasse showing off the ladies! Yes, this isn't uncommon which is why some recommend keeping 2 females so the one does't get overwhelmed by the males advances. As long as the female is eating you should be ok though. Keep us posted!
 
You know I picked up a pair from Mcf as well.. Male never flashes... But I had a pair of Nahacky wrasse. The male never flashed either and died shortly after. I ended up getting another female and she quickly turned male... And he flashes ALL the time... Chases the female around. I wonder if their hormones go nuts changing from female to make that it makes them flash more?
 
the tank looks awesome Joe! I'd love to get a pair of those, but I need to somehow get rid of my yellowfin fairy before I ever add another fairy wrasse, as he's a total a-hole
